Currently, electric vehicles are disadvantage compared to gas powered vehicle. Even though these electric vehicles are environmental friendly, comparing the range of charge and the same amount of gas used in cars, the Electric vehicles last for short miles. Considering a single charge of the electric cars, say the tesla brand, if charged fully it has a mileage of 250 miles whereas a gas powered vehicle can last for up to 620 miles.
Nevertheless, recently there has been some advancement in the electric vehicles batteries capacity. According to reports, there is a new improvement to these electric vehicles batteries. Reports from Norwegian institute of technology have come up with a more advance method by which electric batteries will last longer. By electric batteries means all electronic devices which uses electric batteries including EV, smart phones and laptop.
According to Norwegian institute of technology, this will be the biggest breakthrough in history since electric vehicles will be on high demand and more so the environment will be conserved and protected from contamination by gas products.
The question is, what is this new technology all about? Norwegian institute of technology did a lot of research and saw that the combination of silicon and nanotechnology will make this EV batteries last even more. According to Norwegian institute of technology reports, the nanotechnology combined with the silicon will lead to massive improvement in the electronic vehicle range.
According to Norwegian institute of technology, this finding are not limited nor implemented but simulated and the result confirms that the nanotechnology and silicon property will lead to massive improvement to the electric vehicles battery capacity. Currently, graphite which is mostly used in fabrication of batteries will be replaced by silicon.
So why silicon? Silicon holds more charge compared to graphite. So combining silicon with nanotechnology will lead to massive improvement in the EV battery capacity. According to research, silicon properties will be maximized to the fullest hence the massive improvement in the holding capacity of the new designed battery. This definitely will improve the EV car industry and also increase the demand for electric vehicles.
